The Integrated Management System (IMS) implemented at the Mota-Engil Group, of which Algar is an integral part, encompasses the components of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), involving the organisation as a whole, with benefits for each of the stakeholders: customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and society in general.

The aim is to ensure high standards of quality in the services provided, as well as to demonstrate management focused on protecting the environment and the health of the company's employees, applying the best available techniques conducive to its continuous progress in terms of environmental performance, pollution prevention and risk control, which are technically feasible and considering their economic effectiveness.

One of the structural phases of the implementation and certification of the IMS is related to the definition of the SHEQ Policy, which aims to assume various commitments enshrined therein, in these three areas.

It should be noted that ISO 45001:2018 certification guarantees that the management of Algar's multi-municipal system for selective collection, waste transfer, sorting and treatment of solid waste complies with all the solutions established to minimise the risk of accidents and occupational diseases for its employees and other personnel working on its behalf.
