Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV) recently highlighted the Artificial Intelligence Tool for the placement of recycling bins, a partnership between ALGAR and the start-up NILG.AI, as part of the 3rd edition of the Re_source innovation programme, as an inspiring example of innovation in waste management and recovery.

This pioneering project aims to optimise the selection of locations for the installation of recycling bins, ensuring a more efficient and sustainable distribution, contributing to smarter environmental management.

In addition to recognition by SPV, the initiative was awarded the title of ‘Data Changemaker of the Year 2024’ by the Data Science Portuguese Association and Nova SBE, reinforcing the positive impact of the project on waste management and the environment.

This recognition reinforces ALGAR's role as an active partner in creating sustainable and innovative solutions for the packaging waste value chain, reflecting the company's dedication to its mission of promoting a more circular and efficient economy.
