ALGAR will be taking part in the 19th edition of Children and the Environment Week, organised by the Municipality of Olhão, with the aim of raising awareness among younger generations of the importance of proper waste management, recycling and adopting sustainable behaviours. The initiative will take place on 28 and 29 May and 1, 2 and 3 June, under the theme “Growing Up and Caring for the Climate to Change”.
The initiative involves all the nursery schools and primary school classes in the municipality, bringing together around 3,500 children, with the aim of marking World Children’s Day and World Environment Day through a series of awareness-raising and environmental education activities.
Through this participation, ALGAR reinforces its commitment to promoting environmental literacy among younger generations, encouraging more responsible practices and greater environmental awareness.
Throughout the event, the company will run educational and interactive activities, featuring engaging and educational games tailored to different age groups, providing learning opportunities on sustainability, the circular economy and environmental protection.
Children and the Environment Week thus stands out as an important community-focused initiative, which Algar is keen to support every year, promoting environmental citizenship and encouraging the active participation of school communities in building a more sustainable future.
